Château Topoľčianky is a wine manufacturer established in 1933 in the central part of the Danube plain in the south of the Slovak Republic. With over six million bottles produced each year, we are the leading wine producer in the country and one of the best established wine brands in the Central European region.
On our own 400 hectares of vineyards around the village of Topoľčianky, we produce more than 5.000.000 bottles of red, white and rose wines annually. The tradition of growing grapes in this region dates back to 1723, and numerous families have long-established wineries in the area. For selected varieties, we maintain a tradition of closely cooperating with smaller wine growers in the region, and purchase some additional grapes each year from them.
Our wines include typical varieties in the Danube region in categories of quality wines and wines with attribute. The typical grapes in the region include Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Blaufränkich, Pinot Noir and some regional specialties such as Palava, Devin and Alibernet. The combination of northerly climate and variable soil conditions with professional treatment of qualified viticulturalists produce most interesting wines with top qualities.
Our company takes best care of every step of the wine-making process. After the harvest, we collect the juice in our underground cellars. Up to 560.000 liters of red wines age at a time in our 100 underground oak barrels. In the modern part of our cellar, over 100 stainless steel tanks with the individual content up to 110.000 liters of white and rose wines. As quality of our products at every step is as important to us as tradition, in 2006, we have put in place a fully automated bottle filling system, which allows us to fill up to 4000 bottles of our wines per hour under the highest standards.
While based on a historical tradition and a long-established knowledge of wine-making, we try to discover our wines time and again. Besides the popular traditional varieties – Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Blaufränkich and Pinot Noir which we have kept unchanged over the years, we introduce a number of new varieties and variations almost each year.
